Bloodmoon

1997

Director: Tony Leung Siu-Hung

Stars: Gary Daniels, Chuck Jefferys, Frank Gorshin, Keith Vitali, Rob Van Dam

Despite some good intentions, Bloodmoon can't quite hide its' B-movie lineage -- namely, sub-par acting, a hammy script, and a weak plot about an evil martial arts master who is killing off other fighters. However, the brawls in here are good. Unlike most of the US/HK crossover movies, Tony Leung was actually able to use Chinese cameramen and editors, and that gives Bloodmoon's fights a lot smoother (and more exciting) look compared to the movie's MTV-wannabe counterparts. And you can't really hate a movie that employs Frank Gorshin (the original Riddler from the "Batman" TV series) in a serious role.
