Sound: Dolby 5.1
Subtitles: Chinese, English
Extras: making-of featurette
This disc is very bare-bones in presentation and extras, and navigating the Chinese-only menus can be cumbersome, but the picture and sound transfer is near flawless -- a far cry from the usual middling quality of Mainland-produced DVDs. As of this writing (March 2003), this is the only legal version of the movie available on DVD. There is supposedly an "extended version" floating about with 20 minutes of extra footage, but most reports have that version as a poor-quality bootleg.
As some of you know, Miramax owns the North American rights to this film, and may begin blocking NA-based customers from buying this DVD (as they have with other films). I would encourage you to pick this version up if you're interested in the movie, since Miramax's treatment of Asian films has been half-ass to say the least.
