The transfer is very good -- the picture is very crisp with nice colors and the sound mix is clear (I would rather have a clear mono mix than a mushy 5.1 one). However, this version has been cut for violence and there is a jarring cut during the finale (supposedly a mastering effort according to some reports) which leaves a huge plot hole. I'm going to mildly recommend this one for a rental, but if you want to see the whole movie and can play Region 1 or 2 discs, there are uncut versions available from Beam (Japan) or Metrodome (England), but note that these versions' transfers are not as good.
