Rage and Honor II: Hostile Takeover

1993

Director: Guy Norris

Stars: Cynthia Rothrock, Richard Norton, Patrick Muldoon, Frans Tumbuan

Why in God's name they made a sequel to the pungent Rage and Honor is beyond me. More importantly, why the hell did I decide to watch Rage and Honor II? Perhaps it was boredom, perhaps the fact that it was on cable, perhaps it was the copious amount of "Green Death" (aka Special Export beer) I had swilled. At any rate, Rage and Honor II isn't half-bad. Don't get me wrong; it's not a very good film by any means, but compared to the train wreck that was the first movie, Rage and Honor II looks positively Shakespearean by comparison.

The plot here is your standard B-movie nonsense about drug dealers and crooked cops. To be truthful, I don't really recall the specifics, but do we really need to get into them here? The plot only really serves to get to the fight scenes, of which there is a fairly good amount. I would have liked more action from Cynthia (the movie seems to concentrate more on Norton's character), but overall Rage and Honor II delivers the low-budget goods. If you're like me and have some sort of sick addiction to bottom-of-the-barrel straight-to-video "masterpieces", then you should enjoy Rage and Honor II, or at least enjoy making fun of it.
